A POPULAR children's attraction has unveiled an environmentally-friendly home for some of its animal residents.

Fairytale Farm, near Chipping Norton, now boasts a turkey shed and visitor benches made entirely from almost 1,000 'eco-bricks', thanks to schoolchildren and members of the community.

The company's Chipping Norton store asked schools and shoppers to bring in used plastic bottles filled with plastic waste, which were then packed to create the eco-bricks.

In just three months, schools gave the equivalent of almost 700 bricks, while Midcounties members and shoppers contributed enough to create 250.

Great Rollright Primary School, near Chipping Norton, contributed the equivalent of 357 bricks alone.

The initiative was organised by The Midcounties Co-operative as part of its 1Change campaign, which encourages people to make one small change to their behaviour that benefits the environment.
