A PRESCHOOL has relaunched inside a new building in West Oxfordshire.

Hanborough Meadows Preschool has opened at the Vanbrugh Meadows development in Long Hanborough.

Formerly known as Long Hanborough Playgroup, the preschool used to be in a prefabricated building on land loaned by Hanborough Manor School.

Its new facility was built by CALA Homes as part of its planning agreement, offering a permanent new home for pupils to learn in.

Ahead of the launch, more than £20,000 was raised by the preschool to fully equip the setting inside and out.

Megan Sayers, of Hanborough Meadows Preschool, said: "We are delighted to finally open our own doors at Vanbrugh Meadows.

"The new building enables us to offer the best possible preschool education for to two-five year-olds from the local community and surrounding villages, and we’re incredibly grateful to CALA Homes for providing us with such a fabulous new facility.

"The children are enjoying everything the space has to offer."

Ahead of the opening, pre-schoolers from the facility buried a time capsule to leave a legacy message for future youngsters, who will attend Hanborough Meadows Preschool in 2069.

Items placed within the time capsule included pictures the children had drawn, of what they envisaged for their new preschool, as well as a letter to the children of that generation.

Stuart Wallace, managing director at CALA Homes's Chiltern branch, said: "We aim to leave a lasting legacy in the locations in which we build.

"We were delighted to design, build and ultimately witness Hanborough Meadows preschool open the doors of its own building for the very first time.

"We hope that children from the immediate and surrounding area benefit from all the preschool has to offer for years to come."

Vanbrugh Meadows is a development of 32 four and five bedroom family homes, in Church Road.
