STARS of a kaleidoscopic show took a quick trip to 'ancient Egypt' as they prepared to take to the stage.
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is being performed at Oxford's New Theatre this week, part of which is set in Egypt.
Joseph is played by Jaymi Hensley, who rose to fame in the X Factor boyband Union J, while the Pharaoh is played by singer Andrew Geater.
The pair visited Oxford's Ashmolean Museum yesterday to get into character, donning their costumes to visit the ancient Egypt exhibition.
The musical is based on a biblical story about Joseph, who has 11 brothers.
When his dad gifts him with a coloured dreamcoat , his brothers get jealous and plot to kill him, but he then gets taken to Egypt as a slave and is sent to prison.
It was created by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber and has been seen by an estimated 26 million people - and counting.
The show opened at the New Theatre on Tuesday and performances continue until Saturday - see atgtickets.com for details.
