Here's what we know about the Cowley Road murder investigation so far:
- On Thursday (18/07) a fight broke out between two men on Cowley Road at around 7.20pm
- Police taped off a number of shops close to the junction with Divinity Road
- At the time, a 57-year-old was taken to hospital with serious head injuries
- A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning GBH.
- It is understood that the 57-year-old left the hospital and was then found unconscious hours later at around 10.30pm on London Road in Headington opposite Bury Knowle Park
- He was then rushed to hospital and died earlier today
- The police cordon was lifted last night outside the shops on Cowley Road and businesses reopened as usual
- Police appealed for more witnesses to come forward to what they described as the 'vicious attack'
- A murder investigation has now been launched and a 41-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of murder. He has been in police custody since Friday

- Police are appealing for witnesses but have reassured members of the public that they believe this to be an isolated incident
- A 41-year-old man is still in police custody after an extension was granted
- Police have now confirmed an extension has been granted until tomorrow (22/07) at 5.20pm - when the decision to charge him or release him will be made
