OXFORD’S eco-friendly credentials have received another boost after a survey said it tops the list outside London for having the highest percentage of pure electric cars.
Insurers Admiral said of all electric car models (both battery-only and hybrid) registered in Oxford, 36 per cent of them are powered purely on electricity.
According to Admiral’s survey, Oxford sits above the Southern average which has an EV increase of 113 per cent over the same period of time, and also the nationwide average of 95 per cent.
Cambridge, by comparison, has seen a 102 per cent increase in EVs and 34 per cent of its electric cars are battery-only models.
