A CHARITY rally is getting ready to ride into town for its annual extravaganza.

The scooter spectacle will attract thousands of petrol heads to the county, with many travelling from as far afield as Scotland and France.

The three-day Oddballs Rally, which will take place at Abingdon Rugby Club from August 2 to 4, was created in 2015 by Vince Wooloff after friend Ron Morgan died of cancer.

Last year more than 2,000 people descended on the town, with £9,000 raised for Teenage Cancer Trust and CLIC Sargent, a charity that also helps young people with cancer and their families.

More than £30,000 has been raised for good causes since the event's launch four years ago.

Each festival is themed and on the Saturday there will be a fancy dress competition, for this year's Wild West theme.

Herald Series:

Gates open midday on Friday, with seven live bands set to play across the three days, plus DJs, and a custom scooter show. Bands include The Corsairs, No Lip, Jack The Lad and rock and roll / psychobilly group The Highliners.

There will also be a raffle where the winner will walk away with a £4,000 customised Vespa.Tickets are £20 in advance or £30 on the day.
