Readers have reported problems with their power supplies this evening, as a 'large power cut' hits the UK.
Oxfordshire County Council issued a statement saying it affected traffic as traffic lights have gone down.
Train services are also affected across the south east, with services to and from London delayed and cancelled. Network Rail said there was a 'surge' on the grid this evening and power was lost in signals across a huge area.
The cuts are due to a large-scale faiure on the National Grid. Power outages have been reported in north Oxfordshire, the Midlands, Wales, London, the North and South East.
One reader described 'gridlock' in Banbury afte traffic lights went out.
We are getting reports of power cuts around the county, affecting our traffic signals on some junctions. Please approach junctions with care if the lights are off. Banbury, Bicester, Adderbury & Witney have been reported with signals down https://t.co/rZaI5SVKSd #OxonTravel pic.twitter.com/ciq0PLaD08
