A SHOPPING centre has turned into the most spectacular car showroom in Oxford this week.

The Cowley Classic Car Display has taken over Templars Square, with petrolheads young and old flocking to see the nine cars on display.

Every vehicle in the exhibition was at least part assembled at the nearby Plant Oxford and many former employees have got behind the wheel since the display opened on Sunday.

The initiative, which runs until Sunday, is organised by Oxford resident and Cowley car enthusiast Tanya Field.

She said: "People have huge pride and feel great ownership of it. It's sad for local people that it isn't celebrated more."

On Monday, 60 Minis will be on show at the Cowley Classic Car Show in Cutteslowe Park, Oxford. Entry is £5 and the event runs from 11am to 5pm.
