TRAFFIC has cleared after a vehicle fire and 'large' diesel spillage closed two lanes of the M40.
The spillage closed a second lane of the northbound carriageway at junction 8A near Wheatley earlier this afternoon, after the earlier vehicle fire closed one lane.

Drivers reported that traffic was at a standstill at about 1.30pm, although queues had mostly eased by 2.30pm.

One person tweeted at the time that they had been waiting 'for nearly an hour' in the queues.

Drivers are still being urged to approach the area with caution in case residual queues remain.
