A notice in the secondary school's newsletter this week said: "Please be aware that the cost of a hot meal from the canteen has increased this year from £1.80 to £2.
"This increase is as a result of rising prices from our suppliers - we have held off raising our prices for seven years."

Oxfordshire County Council informed schools before the summer holidays that from this term, the price of school dinners provided by its catering team will rise by 10 pence, from £2.20 to £2.30.
This was said to be due to the 'rising costs of ingredients' following a 'price freeze which has lasted several years.'
Cheney has its own professional catering team on site.
