LIVE music and hilarious pranks are in store for audiences at The Hexagon next year - as children’s favourite comic characters Dennis and Gnasher are brought to life on stage.

Dennis & Gnasher Unleashed! The Musical will delight the crowds in Reading from March 3 to 7, 2020.

The musical, based on the legendary comic characters and the number one animated CBBC series, tells the story of the mischievous twosome and their best friends the Dinmakers; Rubi, JJ and Pieface.

Their mission is to save Beanotown from the grips of the evil W Corps.

Featuring live music, hilarious pranks, and of course, Dennis’ trademark skateboard, this brand new, high-octane, blamtastic family musical is perfect for pranksters young and old.

The musical is being brought forward by Selladoor Family in partnership with Beano Studios and is written and directed by Will Brenton.

Dennis and Gnasher - previously titled Dennis the Menace and Gnasher, and originally titled Dennis the Menace - is a long-running comic strip in the British children’s comic The Beano, having first appeared in issue 452 in March 1951.

The comic stars a boy named Dennis the Menace and his Abyssinian wire-haired tripe hound Gnasher.

The idea and name of the character emerged when The Beano editor George Moonie reportedly heard a British music hall song with the chorus “I’m Dennis the Menace from Venice”.

Dennis and Gnasher Unleashed! began on CBBC on November 6, 2017, and is the third animated adaption of the strip after Dennis and Gnasher and Dennis the Menace and Gnasher.

The musical comes to The Hexagon in Queens Walk, Reading, in 2020.

Tickets range in price from £20.50 to £29.50.
