AN ELDERLY lady's purse was stolen from her bag while shopping at Waitrose in Wantage.

The victim, who is in her 80s, realised the item had been taken at about 10am on Tuesday, September 10.

She cancelled her cards soon after realising it was missing and no money was taken.

One of her cards was used at an ATM at about 10.15am and was then declined in an attempt to buy clothing.

Thames Valley Police has released CCTV images of a man and woman officers would like to speak to following the theft.

Investigating officer PC Lorraine O’Connor, based at Wantage police station, said: “I am urging anybody who may recognise the man and woman pictured in these images to get in touch with us.

“I believe they may have vital information that could help with this investigation.
