THE Met Office has warned of heavy rain coming to Sussex tomorrow.

The yellow weather warning for rain covers all of Brighton and signals the end of the recent spell of sunshine and warm weather.

The warning is in place from 12.15am on Sunday until 8pm the same day.

The whole country is expected to be affected by the downpours.

What can you expect from a yellow weather warning?

According to the Met Office you should expect the following due to the rain:

  • Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely.
  • Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer.
  • Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer.
  • Some interruption to power supplies may occur due to lightning.

The warning is not just confined to Sussex. The entire west of England is affected with parts of London also included.

This will be the beginning of a long stretch of wet weather which will last at least until the end of next week.

Meanwhile, today will see sunshine and highs of 22C.
