AN eighteen-tonne truck on the way to pave someone's drive was stopped in Abingdon today by police due to a 'few issues.'

The Iveco Eurocargo was stopped by Thames Valley Police's road policing team due to a list of problems with its registration and tax.

The police found the vehicle was being driven on a provisional driving licence, with no insurance.

The road tax on the truck had also expired, it was not registered to a driver, had no operator's licence, and no tachograph machine to record speed and distance.

The driver also did not have a certificate of professional competence and the load behind the truck was not secure.

Police said the truck was on the way to pave someone's driveway, but they seized the vehicle before it arrived.
