A PERSON at Michaelmas Fair in Banbury yesterday evening was taken to hospital with a life-threatening condition.

South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) was called at 5.46pm for a serious medical emergency at the fair.

It sent a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance to the scene.

Thames Valley Police officers assisted SCAS as the team dealt with the situation.

Its Banbury team tweeted yesterday:

A spokesperson from SCAS said: "We’d like to thank Thames Valley Police officers and St John Ambulance staff for starting emergency first aid prior to our arrival; following further treatment at the scene from our staff, the patient was then taken in a life-threatening condition to the Horton Hospital."
