A GIRL was approached by a 'suspicious' man as she walked to school.

Thames Valley Police has warned people via social media of the incident, which happened in Thame at about 9.30am this morning.

In a Facebook post, officers covering the South and Vale wrote: "Police have received a report of a male acting suspiciously by approaching a female student on her way to school."

It happened on the Thame Park Road junction of Chowns Close.

The man was described as white, in his 40s, and was wearing black jogging bottoms with 'paint and mud on,' police said.

He was described as 'very slim' and also wore a black coat.

This week, St Gregory the Great Catholic School in East Oxford and Oxford Spires Academy warned parents about a 'suspicious man' seen hanging around in Barracks Lane at the end of the day.

Police were also notified about that, but the description of the man is completely different to that of the man in Thame.

In response to that article, one mother said her daughter was 'followed' by a suspicious man in Headington as she walked home from school on Wednesday.
