JURORS have been reminded of the harrowing claims made by a woman who alleges she was raped in an Oxford city centre backstreet.

Cousins Victor Alvizu, 20, of Green Road, Oxford and Nestor Macias, 37, of Downside Road, Headington, both deny one count of rape, one count of attempted rape and a further count of attempted rape, which is an alternative count to the rape charge.

They are accused of raping the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, in Turl Street on May 4.

A jury is still considering the evidence before delivering their verdict, but asked Judge Ian Pringle yesterday for a refresher on the alleged victim's police interview.

After a night of heavy drinking, she said she ended up alone in Cornmarket searching for her friends, and met the pair.

She said they walked with her and pushed her face onto the ground in the doorway of a shop and pulled down her trousers.

She told police: "I was really drunk.

"I literally felt like my mind was completely blank. I was kind of sat like a child, I just didn't know what was going on.

"I remember I started panicking and started to cry and scream and say please, please stop.

"When they pushed my face down I think I just stopped trying to fight, I think I just lay there. All I remember is just screaming and crying.

"I felt violated completely. My whole body was just in shock.

"I don't remember feeling cold and I should have been, because it was raining and I was literally in a puddle.

"I was just crying uncontrollably."

She said she was on her period at the time and wearing a menstrual cup, and she thought she was penetrated anally as well as vaginally.

The defendants both deny rape and attempted rape and Alvizu previously told jurors the sex was consensual.
