A TEENAGE girl was caught with a lock knife on school premises.

The schoolgirl - who cannot be named for legal reasons - pleaded guilty to having the blade before Oxford Magistrates' Court last month.

She admitted one count of possession of a bladed article while at school grounds.

The girl was at her school - which also cannot be named in case it leads to her identification - when the offence took place on September 26.

For the single count she was referred to an Oxfordshire Youth Offender Panel for a total term of nine months.

She was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and court costs of £40.

The lock knife she was carrying was made forfeit and will be destroyed.
