A NEW luxury care home with its own cinema, hair salon and restaurant has been completed.

The new home in Benson near Wallingford had its last roof tiles fitted last month as part of a traditional topping-out ceremony to mark the latest milestone in the development.

Once the internal decorating and fitting is finished, Benson House is now set to open in September 2020.

The residential home is part of Caring Homes, which is celebrating 25 years in the care home industry this year.

The firm says its new Benson home will be beautifully furnished and offer a warm atmosphere for its residents.

There will be 'highly-trained' staff available for residents so they can get to know them individually and offer high standards of residential nursing and dementia care for up to 70 elderly people.

The care home managers will aim to give the new residents an active and independent lifestyle as well as giving them the care they need.

The care home aims to be secure and relaxed and they are set to have on offer bright and spacious communal areas.

Benson House will have a cinema, a hair salon, bistro, a restaurant with private dining facilities and several 'quiet and cosy' lounges.

The final roof tile at Benson House was fitted by Tracey Fletcher-Ray, managing director for Caring Homes.

She was joined by special projects manager Alison Curd, construction manager Kevin Coleman, architect John Bell and Dalton Homes site manager David Tooley and commercial director Phil Warren.

Ms Fletcher-Ray said: “It is very exciting for everyone involved that we have reached this milestone. We will now all be working hard to get the home fitted out inside and recruit staff ready to welcome our first residents next year.”

Benson’s new care home is situated by opposite the River Thames.

This is a sought-after location with river views from the cafe which is popular with visitors to the village.

RAF Benson is also only three miles away from the new care home and it is a big part of the community housing a range of helicopters including Pumas and Chinooks.

Caring Homes says Benson House will be 'a great care home for someone who still wants to be independent and enjoy a luxury lifestyle with residential care'.

Once internal facilities like the cinema and salon are complete, members of public will be able to look around inside.

Caring Homes said: "The luxury purpose-built care home, Benson House will provide high standards of care as well as give the residents an independent lifestyle promoting person-centred care."
