A TREEHOUSE could be built in the grounds of an Oxford private school.
Summer Fields School, on Mayfield Road, wants to build a wooden treehouse on stilts on a green patch of lands surrounded by trees which is next to the school’s playing field.
The treehouse would consist of a series of large hut on stilts and two smaller huts, each of which would be connected by a wooden walkway.
According to a design drawing, the walkway would weave between the trees.
A report submitted alongside the planning application written by High Life Treehouses explained why the school wants the huts to be built.

The report said: "It will essentially be a play structure for the children – but also a place where children and parents can watch games being played on the fields below."
A small number of trees will be pruned and removed to allow the treehouse to be built, but this will not have a negative effect on the local environment, according to another report made alongside the application.
Schools across the UK have made moves towards creating 'outdoor classrooms' in recent years, which often use trees or woodland areas for learning.
In Bladon, an outdoor classroom was opened in October with a donation from the nearby Blenheim Palace.
