PEOPLE in Glasgow are being encouraged to support an annual fundraiser which funds therapies for a 10-year-old boy who suffers from cerebral palsy.

The fourth Walk for Guy will be held on New Year’s Day, following a 10k route from Kelvindale Railway Station to the home of Guy Pentland in Drumchapel and back.

The annual fundraiser was launched in 2017 by Karen Elliott, a lifelong friend of Guy’s mum Denise, and has raised thousands of pounds to help fund expensive but life-changing therapy for the youngster.

Glasgow Times:

Guy was born with cerebral palsy, affecting all four of his limbs.

Those who can’t make the official Walk For Guy in Glasgow are invited to take a New Year’s Day walk wherever in the world they are.

Participants from previous years have walked in Scotland, England, Greece and Spain.

Karen Elliott, from Kelvindale, said: “It’s amazing to be looking forward to our fourth annual #walk4guy and it’s always a privilege to start the New Year off with family and friends in support of wonderful Guy.

“It’s a great way to start the year.”
