OFFICERS cordoned off a road in Oxford city centre yesterday after a body was found.

Old Greyfriars Street next to the Westgate Centre was closed since around 11.30am due to an incident.

Witnesses saw what appeared to be a body of a man on the ground who is believed to have fallen from the Westgate building.

The force was contacted for information and confirmed a man in his 80s had died after falling from the roof terrace.

Old Greyfriars Street was re-opened as police left the scene at around 2.30pm.
