January is a great time for a long winter walk to get out and enjoy the countryside and to also burn off the Christmas food.

The Camera Club theme this week was winter walks and the entries are of family walks in Blenheim and plenty of dogs enjoying the scenic countryside.

Some winter walks appear to be a bit wet and muddy.

As always there are plenty of Camera Club entries of animal pictures and dog walks.

Ian Marriot sent in a picture of a little dog on a run who appears to have bitten off more than it can chew as it is holding a stick that is a lot bigger than it is.

Allen Dannfald also sent in a picture of an excitable dog on a walk, this one was taken in the snow.

Louise Tucker took a great picture of some grazing sheep in Abingdon and also a horse in the New Forest.

Becca Callacott did not take a dog for a walk and instead took her toy Groot for a walk. She sent in pictures of Groot resting at the foot of a tree.

One picture took some teamwork to take as Nick Reck took a picture of an orange hedge on his winter walk. He said the idea for the picture came from his son aged six and he took the photo.

Allen Dannfald captured a rare sight of a hot air balloon flying past Donnington Castle.

Bob Weatherhead shared a great picture of his walk along the Oxford canal on his walk from Jericho to Hythe Bridge Street.

It seems everyone enjoyed wrapping up warm and getting out in the fresh winter air on their walks, even if they were on the muddy side.

The winner of this week’s camera club will be announced in tomorrow’s paper.

The theme for next week is food, take pictures of your best meals in January if they are healthy or not and post them to the Camera Club Facebook page.
