It relates to an incident on June 25 at around 9pm where she had an argument over money for drugs with her landlord, Andrew Davis, who she also had a relationship with.

He ran out of the flat, in Kendall Crescent, Cutteslowe, and was followed by Bilverstone until he fell to the floor and she stabbed him multiple times in the back and once in the throat.

Bilverstone called the ambulance and police and Mr Davis was taken to hospital and had to undergo surgery.

Following the trial, which concluded on December 3, Bilverstone, who had a history of drug abuse, was found not guilty of attempted murder but found guilty of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed article.

After sentencing Bilverstone, Judge Pringle said in court: “You dominated him and you were both no good for each other.

“It was a a serious injury - a repeated assault on the victim leading to a culpability case because of the use of a knife as a weapon.

“For your own benefit, and for the public, you should engage with the services in prison which will mean that eventually, when you are released, you do not revert back to drinking alcohol and drugs.”
