A TEN bedroomed Victorian townhouse that was previously a shelter for homeless women has been put up for sale.
The Grange in Maryhill Park, which is owned by the Simon Community and dates from 1875, has gone on the market for offers over £340,000.
The Victorian sandstone building comes with substantial grounds and is being marketed as a “unique development opportunity.”
Estate agents, McEwan Fraser Legal said the main hallway and staircase once restored, “would not look out of place in a BBC period drama from the 1800’s" and said there is the potential to add up to 14 new apartments.

The Simon Community had been trying to raise funds to restore the building, which has suffered from substantial water damage.
It is understood plans were being developed by the charity to launch its first peer landlord scheme for men, who are ready to take on a first, supported tenancy.
Schemes already operating south of the border involve one of the tenants taking on the responsibilities of a landlord, including ensuring rent is paid and ‘affordable’ rents are agreed.

In May last year, the charity told the Glasgow Times that it was in talks with social housing providers about possible funding for the project.
The Simon Community has run projects in the building for several decades and said local residents had been “extremely supportive” of its work.
