Oxford has some of the hardest water in the UK according to new national research.
In the 2020 Hard Water Index, which was carried out by Harvey Water Softeners, it found that Oxford was in the top 20 towns and cities in the UK with the hardest water.
This is based on the latest milligrams of calcium carbonate per litre for each area.

At 295mg per litre the most similar water in the UK can be found in Swindon and Southampton.
Thames Water is the city's supplier of water and it gets its hardness from limestone and chalky rock in the region.
The majority of the UK's hard water can be found in the south and eastern areas of the country.
