Dear Sir/ Madam,
With reference to Andrew Hornung's letter (Curse of the Weekenders, Oxford Times, January 30), a suggestion that I would make is to set up a Church Enstone Residents' Association if one does not already exist.
It may be able to address such issues as parking.
My suggestions are to place rocks on verges, no parking signs etc.
The council may be able to advise on this.
Another suggestion may be to speak to the owners of the businesses as the council in Bicester has, to an extent, with Bicester Village (how can we get more BV customers into Bicester town by the way?).
I am sure that there are other villages around who are facing the same things and trying to deal with them (ie re-Downton Abbey) so it might be worth contacting them.
Regarding the housing letting issue, this must be something that is a big issue in Cornwall/ Devon, is there something such as a preservation area?
Surely somebody has looked into this?
My sympathies.
