RESIDENTS are invited to have their say on multi-million pound new housing plans for East Oxford.

The city council is holding the feedback session at East Oxford Community Centre on Princes Street, off Cowley Road, on Tuesday from 4pm to 7pm.

The council is planning to build new housing on three sites at Princes Street, Collins Street (behind the Cowley Road Tesco) and Catherine Street off nearby Magdalen Road.

On Tuesday it will be sharing its plans for the mixture of one- and two-bed homes on Collins Street and Princes Street with the public for the first time.

Residents and community groups will be able to see the designs and ask questions of the city council and its architects.

The council said it would share its plans for Catherine Street later this year.

As well as viewing the housing plans, residents will also be able to see the final versions of the plans for redeveloping the community centre.

Those plans have been developed over several years and recently updated in response to feedback from a number of engagement events, with the most recent being earlier this month.

Councillor Marie Tidball said: "New housing is much needed in East Oxford, and this is an integral part of enabling the redevelopment of the community centre.

"We are committed to providing a mix of housing that meets local need, with an aspiration to meet the latest low-carbon standards.

"The redeveloped centre and housing will be an important part of East Oxford for generations to come, that’s why I hope we hear from a broad range of views."
