NEARLY 2,000 people are set to watch a major production by Oxfordshire schoolchildren that will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.
More than 80 sixth-formers from King Alfred's Academy in Wantage will wow their parents and the local community with their interpretation of Forbidden Planet, a 1960s fantasy movie.
Final preparations are being made for the show that has been billed as 'Shakespeare's forgotten rock and roll masterpiece'.

Producer of the play John Gale, who has been developing the play with the children since September, said: "We always like to do shows that link with the rest of the curriculum."
Mr Gale explained that the audience will not only learn about Shakespearean works but also about 1960s music, rocketry, technology and time travel.
The play staged at King Alfred's Academy Theatre will open on March 25 and close on March 28.
Tickets for the amateur production are still available at the box office on 01235225700.
