A CRUMBLING footpath opposite a popular gastropub, which poses a danger to Oxfordshire residents, will not be fixed until water levels go down.
Walkers, who spotted the 'accident waiting to happen' at the embankment of St Helen' Wharf in Abingdon, took to social media to warn locals.
Shocked residents debated the possible dangers from the corroding footpath opposite the Anchor pub.
Some were concerned about the foundations of the surrounding buildings while others were worried about driving on the road and the possibility of increased traffic.

One Facebook user Ed McBain speculated: "It looks like backwash has been working away behind a fracture for quite some time before the bank started to break up."
A spokesperson for Oxfordshire County Council revealed that the local authority would not be able to access the 'dangerous' section until river levels decrease.
It was confirmed that arrangements were made today for a section of the footway to be barriered off to maintain safety and access.
They added: "This will give us the opportunity to carry out further inspections and assess what is required to carry our repairs."
