A MAN has been jailed for engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl.

Shane Blake, 26, of London Street, Faringdon, was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison, following a hearing at Reading Crown Court on Friday.

He was also convicted of using a motor vehicle without third party insurance, and driving without a licence.

The most serious charge related to an incident in the early hours of Sunday, August 4, last year, when Blake engaged in a sexual activity with a girl, then aged 15, in a property in London Street, Faringdon.

Blake was arrested on August 6, and then charged the next day.

Investigating officer, DC Emma Fitzsimmonds, of Cowley police station, said: “I would like to pay tribute to the victim in this case, who has showed bravery throughout.

“Thames Valley Police reports of this nature very seriously and will always investigate and bring offenders to justice through the courts.

“I hope the victim can now begin to move forward with her life, and this sentencing today brings her some form of closure.”
