WITH a huge increase in time spent online during the period of self-isolation, do not fall into a 'honey trap', Thames Valley Police has warned.

Thousands of people in the UK are being duped by webcam criminals for 'sextortion' – seeking compromising material and then using it to threaten with blackmail – and the number is only expected to rise during the government-enforced lockdown when many spend more hours digitally.

The National Crime Agency urged online users: "Do not panic, do not pay, stop and notify the police."
