A WITNEY girl has raised hundreds of pounds for charity by cutting and donating her hair.

Mia-Grace Tudor, 9, had her long locks chopped before donating the hair to the Little Princess Trust and also raising £650 for Helen & Douglas House which cares for her cousin Lily-Mae Oldham.

Her family hair-dresser, Laura Hooper, cut her hair at home last month.

Mia-Grace’s cousin Lily-Mae, 7, who also lives in Witney has a life limiting condition called Rett Syndrome and various health complications.

Lily-Mae and her Mum Leanne have been coming to Helen & Douglas House for respite care and support for three years. They also plan to get some sponsorship and send a donation to The Little Princess Trust.

Emma Tudor, Mia-Grace’s mum said: "Helen & Douglas House is a charity incredibly close to our hearts. This fantastic place is especially important to her as they look after Mia-Grace’s wonderful cousin Lily-Mae, offering care and support to her and her mum and will continue to offer it in the years to come, to all of us.

‘‘She loves her cousin dearly and wants to do anything she can to help children who aren’t as lucky as she is."

Last year Mia-Grace’s dad, Daniel, did a parachute jump and she helped with a bake sale at her school which raised £1,631.67 for the charity.

Mia-Grace said: "When children have cancer it’s very scary and I want to help them to feel better if I can. I know how much Lily-Mae and aunty Leanne love Helen & Douglas House so I want to help them too.’
