HOUSEHOLDERS are being reminded of the importance of staying safe at home and avoiding fires, during the coronavirus pandemic.
Oxfordshire fire service said simple checks within the home could save lives.
Tips include checking plug sockets are not overloaded and making sure smoke alarms are working correctly.
Chief fire officer Rob MacDougall said: “It is vital that in these uncertain and unprecedented times people don’t forget about basic fire safety in the home.”

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service is operating as normal.
Call 999 in the event of an emergency.
