AN Oxfordshire-based radio brand has launched a £100k advertising fund to support local organisations making an impact during the pandemic and charities whose business has been affected.

JACK, which runs radio stations JACKfm, JACK2 and JACK3 in Oxfordshire as well as national stations Union JACK Radio and JACK Radio, has pledged individual airtime grants of £10k, £5k and £2.5k, up to a total of £100k to local businesses and initiatives.

This means that each recipient will benefit from a £10k, £5k or £2.5k advertising campaign to promote its product or service, which will run throughout June on JACKfm, JACK2 and JACK3, reaching around 88,000 listeners each week.

The radio brand remains one of the last remaining independent groups in British radio, arriving in the UK in Oxfordshire in 2007 and engaging with the local community through charity radiothons.

It has raised over £300k for good causes in three years.

The fund has been created to support local businesses, individuals and initiatives by providing them with a county-wide platform on which to promote their service, providing it is something that has made a positive impact during the coronavirus pandemic.

Applicants will be asked to demonstrate this by responding to a number of key criteria, with entries being judged by a panel including representatives from JACK and an independent advisor.

Hamish Law, head of national sales and digital at JACK, said: “The Oxfordshire heritage of the JACK brand is vitally important to us, so we wanted to give something back to businesses and individuals who have made a positive impact on people’s lives, or on the local economy, at a time when so many have been struggling.

"We have a vast platform that reaches thousands of listeners across Oxfordshire every week via our stations JACKfm, JACK2 and JACK3, so we want to use this to support and aid those who truly deserve it.”

Applications for JACK’s £100k Oxfordshire Radio Advertising Fund close on May 19, 2020.
