A POPULAR leisure centre donated surplus food and drink worth £600 to Abingdon Foodbank in Northcourt Road.
Rather than letting the goods go to waste while the facility is shut, staff at the Abingdon leisure centre donated an array of snacks, biscuits, crisps and soft drinks that were reaching their 'sell-by' date to the foodbank based at Christ Church.

The organisation provides at least three days of 'nutritionally balanced, non-perishable food' to those in need and is open to everyone on Tuesdays and Fridays from 11am until 1pm.
