NO NEW deaths have been reported at Oxfordshire's hospitals from coronavirus for three days.

The figures, released by NHS England today, showed a further 59 people, who tested positive for the coronavirus had in England's hospitals, bringing the total confirmed deaths there to 25,750.

Patients were aged between 44 and 98 years old, with four of the 59 patients (aged between 56 and 91) having no known underlying health condition.

However, a note with the data, which was lower than anticipated said the Covid Patient Notification System did not operate between 4.55am and 3pm on Sunday due to ‘connectivity issues experienced by an external supplier’.

It added: “The number of deaths reported today by NHS England and NHS Improvement may therefore reflect this situation.”

The health agency said the system was now ‘fully operational’ and the reports of any deaths which were not able to be entered on Sunday would be updated.

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and Banbury's Horton General Hospital, has recorded 177 virus deaths.

The more recent was a single death announced on Friday.

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust has reported 22 deaths.

Across the UK there have now been 36,914 coronavirus deaths reported, including a further 121 today.

Globally the death toll was 345, 886, as of this afternoon.
