A MOTORCYLIST has died following a collision in Lancashire, police have confirmed.
The incident happened at 4pm yesterday on the A588 at Cockerham, in the borough of Lancaster, when a Suzuki motorcycle left the road and came to rest in a field.
The rider, a 55-year-old man from Thornton, died at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.
Officers are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Sgt Paul Maguire, of the police's tactical operations team, said: “Very sadly this incident has resulted in a man losing his life and I would appeal for anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to police, or anyone who may have dashcam footage, to come forward and contact us.”
