Dog owners have been seeing a lot more of their pets during the coronavirus lockdown.

Now the restrictions have been eased by the government there are plenty of opportunities for families to take their dogs for walks in their favourite park or for a stroll through the Oxfordshire countryside.

Readers on our Facebook page have sent us some pictures of their pets to raise a smile during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

Jodie Haining posted a picture of Alfie her four-year-old chocolate Labrador and her daughter Florence, who is almost two.

She said: "Their relationship has grown leaps and bounds since lockdown started as they spend all day, everyday together. It’s beautiful."

And Ellie Hyatt has posted a picture of Casper, six months old, trying to befriend tortoises.

She wrote: "He tries to befriend the cat, but she’s still not too sure - he has been so amazing helping me deal with my mental health during lockdown!"

And Lisa Lou Holt said she was also enjoying spending more time at home with her pet.

She said: "This is Lily, we have no idea what breed she is but we’ve discovered some great new places to explore during our daily walks! She follows me everywhere & I’ve loved spending more time with her while working from home."
