A 20-YEAR-OLD man was the victim of GBH after he was stamped on and punched in the face in a basketball court in Banbury.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after the incident which happened in a basketball court located near the Musketeer public house in Longelandes Way between 10.30pm and 11.15pm on Monday.

A disagreement began between the victim and two offenders and ended in the victim being punched in the face by both offenders.

The victim fell to the floor, before the offenders then stamped on his leg. He sustained a fractured jaw and broken ankle and was taken to hospital for treatment but has since been discharged.

The first offender is described as a white man who is 5ft 8ins and aged between 30 and 40. He had short dark hair and facial hair, tattoos on both arms and was dressed in shorts and a t-shirt.

The second offender is also a white man, aged between 40 and 50, and was wearing a short-sleeved shirt.

Investigating officer, PC Peter Butt-Gow, of Banbury police station, said: “I am appealing for witnesses in relation to this incident of GBH, which occurred at a time where I believe someone could have seen or heard something.
