A CHARITY worker will stay awake for 24 hours to raise money for people with learning disabilities.
The Oxford-based group Yellow Submarines has organised a virtual marathon of games, challenges, talent shows and competitions to mark 100 days of lockdown.
Staff member Jack Barnett, who has been entertaining people dependent on the charity during the coronavirus crisis, will be going the extra mile on Monday and Tuesday to raise £1,000.
As well as a fundraiser the ‘streamathon’ is also an opportunity to ‘celebrate the strength, resilience and bravery’ of all Yellow Submarine’s members during the coronavirus pandemic.

Mr Barnett said: “I have had such a great time thinking up crazy ideas and had fabulous feedback and creativity from our members too – they tell me what they want to see and become involved with.
“It has been a fantastic way for them to keep in touch with their friends while they are isolated at home as our usual social clubs and other face to face activities cannot happen yet.
“It also gives a little time in the day for their families to get a bit of respite.”
