SUPERMARKETS have issued urgent food recalls for everyday items over fears they may be unsafe. 

The Foods Standards Agency has issued alerts for the popular items urging customers to return them immediately. 

Aldi and Asda are affected by the news - one product even contains small pieces of metal and should not be eaten at all.

Dangerous toxins - cheese tubes:

Primula Ltd Cheese Tubes might be contaminated with Clostridium Botulinum (a bacteria that produces dangerous toxins) because of a production fault. 

The flavours: original cheese, smoked paprika, jalapenos, light spread, ham, chives, and prawns are all affected. 

Any 150ml tube with the best before date from December 25, 2020 and January 29, 2021 and any 100ml tube with the best before date from October 20, 2020 and December 10, 2020 should be returned instantly. 

What to do: 

Do not eat them, instead take it back to the shop for a full refund with or without a receipt.

Small pieces of metal - breadsticks:

Aldi's Family Bakery Savour Bakes Bread Sticks could have tiny pieces of metal in them making them unsafe to eat. 

All best before dates are affected but only from specific batch codes 704888 and 49830. 

What to do: 

Take it back to Aldi for a full refund - you do not need a  receipt.

Undeclared milk - gravy

Premier is recalling Biso Original Gravy Powder, sold at Asda. 

The instant gravy contains milk which is not mentioned on the label.

This could make it a serious risk to anybody who has an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

This only affects batches sold at Asda with the lot number 0092 A5 and time codes between 10.41 and 10.47.

They are marked up as best before March 2022. 

What do to:

Return to Asda as soon as possible for a full refund - you do not need a receipt.
