SERVICES to treat minor injuries in Oxfordshire are now back to the same opening hours as before coronavirus.

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust’s Minor Injuries Units in Abingdon, Henley and Witney, and the First Aid Unit in Bicester were operating on reduced hours from March 23 to allow staff to be redeployed to respond to the coronavirus crisis.

Despite the chance the units are still operating an appointment system to allow for social distancing in the waiting areas.

People should call 111 or the unit directly before going in.

This will enable people to be advised on whether their injury is suitable for the service and they will be offered an appointment based on their clinical need.

Those injured will be seen as close to the appointment time as possible but there may sometimes be a delay.

Anyone who attends without an appointment will be preliminarily assessed but they may be asked to wait or return at a later time.

Those who attend must bring and wear a face covering and people are urged, if possible, to come alone. If someone if needed to drive the person, they should wait in the car unless their support is essential to get inside.

Hand cleaning will be required as people enter the buildings and during your visit.

For life-threatening emergencies, call 999 or attend your nearest A&E.
