St Michael’s Street has been temporarily pedestrianised to allow for outdoor, socially-distanced dining.

However, Greens are asking for more space for cyclists to use the street while still retaining the outdoor space for cafes.

Oxford city councillor Dick Wolff said: “The pedestrianisation of St Michael’s Street would be all the more impressive if it didn’t block cyclists.”

The closure will initially be in operation until September 3.
