MORE than 160 medical students who have been volunteering in Oxfordshire's hospitals during the coronavirus outbreak have been praised.
The students, all part Oxford University, took on a range of roles including assisting clinicians with putting on and taking off their Personal Protective Equipment, and helping with our staff testing programme.
Among them were a group of fifth year medical students who in March joined Oxford University Hospitals relatives liaison team.

They provided the daily phone calls and updates to families of coronavirus patients in intensive care and arranged video calls for those well enough to speak to their loved ones.
Professor Meghana Pandit, OUH chief medical officer, said the team's 'professionalism and positive attitude' was a 'beacon of light', adding: "We cannot praise our medical students and their nursing colleagues enough."
