COMMUNITY groups can now apply for a share of nearly £90,000 to help people affected by Covid-19.

Almost £90,000 is available for organisations in South Oxfordshire and the Vale of White Horse who have been at the forefront of the pandemic.

Each group that is supporting vulnerable residents in the districts with food and medicine can apply for up to £5,000.

District councillor Maggie Filipova-Rivers said: " The voluntary groups and organisations in the district have been working tirelessly since the pandemic began to help those who need this extra support, and these grants will enable them to continue this vital work".

The first deadline for applications is midnight on Tuesday, September 15.

Further rounds will be assessed every two weeks and the scheme will remain open until the funds are spent.
