PLANS for the annual Remembrance Day Parade have been cancelled following the latest 'rule of six' restrictions.

Wantage town mayor James Sibbald announced today that the event, which this year falls on Sunday, November 8, will no longer take place amid the Covid-19 guidelines on gatherings.

Explaining his decision on Facebook, the councillor said: "Given that the government guidelines from today are that gatherings are now reduced to groups of six, the Wantage Silver Band are unable to meet to practice.
