A PACKED programme full of nature-based events designed to inspire families, young people, and adults of all ages to discover the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty has been launched.

This autumn the Chilterns Conservation Board has launched a ‘season of celebration’ so people can reconnect with nature, improve health and wellbeing, and meet new people following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Running throughout October is the new Chilterns Celebration. The celebration is designed to bring communities together and explore the local landscape.

The celebration includes a visit from Chris Packham - naturalist, nature photographer, television presenter and author, who will be speaking at a Chilterns Champions conference about Citizen Science.

There will also be nature trails, art workshops and a live-streaming concert.

From Saturday October 17 to Sunday November 1, the Chilterns Walking Festival will take place with over 50 guided walks, activities, and events.

The ‘season of celebration’ will also support the campaign to extend the visitor season from October right through to spring 2021 to support their local pubs, shops, and attractions.
