TWO SEPARATE cannabis farms were discovered in East Lancashire last week.

The first came when 125 mature cannabis plants with a street value of over £60,000 were seized by police after a raid on a property on Blackburn Road, Oswaldtwistle on Friday September 18.

During the raid, officers discovered the plants growing within four of the property's rooms.

A police spokesperson said: "Officers from all sections of the Hyndburn Neighbourhood Team dismantled the set-up seizing plants with a street value of over £60,000 along with all the propagation equipment.

“The team would like to thank the community for their support, stay safe.”

The second discovery came a day later when officers on patrol in Burnley uncovered a similar farm in the Burnley Wood area, which was then seized and dismantled.

Police have not said whether the cases are linked but have said that anyone with concerns can email police 2498@lancashire.police.uk or call independent charity crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
