Another 371 people across East Lancashire have tested positive for the coronavirus since figures were last updated on Friday afternoon.

The latest data shows that in the last 24 hours, across all six boroughs, 371 people have contracted Covid-19 – with Burnley registering the highest number of new cases for the second day in a row.

Here, 98 people tested positive for the coronavirus, bringing Burnley's total number of positive cases to 1,946.

The second highest number of new cases was reported in Pendle, where 87 people tested positive taking the borough's total number of infections to 1,918.

In Blackburn with Darwen, another 86 people tested positive, bringing the total number of cases here to 3,404.

Hyndburn recorded an increase of 35 with their total now sitting at 1,379.

Rossendale’s total number of positive infections grew to 996 after 41 new cases were recorded, while the Ribble Valley’s 24 new infections brought the borough’s total to 593.

In Chorley, 1,318 people have tested positive for the virus.

The total number of positive tests for Covid-19 recorded across East Lancashire now stands at 10,326 (11,644 including Chorley).
